Minutes of Fylde Exec meeting, Week 3 Michaelmas

1. Budget
The exec was shown the budget for the year, which was set to be ratified at the AGM
2. Socials
- Paintballing: very few tickets sold, and if there is not a sell out by Friday the trip will be cancelled. The trip will also be cancelled if County cannot sell their allocation also
- There is a quiz this Sunday
- 8pm Monday of week 5 there is a ladies night, with already over 20 expected to attend
- Tuesday Fylde hosts Fusion, a party pack is being donated to decorate with. Still waiting on posters
- There is also another Halloween party on the Friday night
- After being discussed in the JCR JSC it was made clear that after problems in other cities LUSU does not endorse Carnage.
- Gamestech contract: After another discussion in the JCR JSC the current suppliers of games machines will be changed due to poor service. Unfortunatly this needs to be done soon but the turnaround will take up to 2 weeks to complete. LUSU are looking into the possibility of playing George Whyatt matches in Rielys to keep disruption of the league to a minimum
- The live band night has changed to a night with Rockband on the small screen due to lack of funds.
3. Welfare
· Friday is breast cancer awareness day, wear it pink! Campaign will be taking place in the square and there will be some Sugarhouse promotions
· Wednesday week 4 there are 2 events, a self-harm and depression forum as well as a debate on reproductive rights
· There will be women self-defence sessions starting in week 6
4. Recycling
There is a uni-wide recycling campaign underway. All colleges will win some money to donate to protect a pre-chosen endangered animal.
5. Sports
There was a poor turnout from Fylde at the taster sessions however it is being repeated this week. The first competition day starts in week 6
6. Freshers
It has been mentioned that many are starting to get homesick and may be in need of support
7. AOB
Some art students are looking to hold a fundraiser in Fylde in the near future, they will have to speak to Dave and Sue, the most likely day will be a Wednesday or Friday.
